There are three business arrangements in Singapore that have been specifically created for foreign entrepreneurs and business entities planning to have a presence in the country: a subsidiary company, branch office, and representative office.

These are the basic differences between these business entities for foreign entrepreneurs and investors:

    1. Subsidiary company

This is probably the most ideal business entity for foreign companies planning to form a Singapore company or expand their presence in the country. This is because this formation provides countless of benefits especially when it comes to tax incentives and limited liability.

As a separate legal entity from its parent company, a subsidiary company may have a different name and is allowed to conduct any business activities in the country as long as these are legal.

A foreign company with a subsidiary company enjoys a limited liability, an arrangement in which it is not liable for any losses, liabilities, and debts of its Singapore auxiliary business.

And because a subsidiary company is incorporated in Singapore, it also enjoys local tax benefits even if it is 100 percent owned by foreign businessmen and entities.

However, this business setup is required to appoint at least one resident director who may be a Singaporean citizen or holder of EntrePass, Employment Pass, or Permanent Residence Status.
Meawhile, a subsidiary company may have one to 50 shareholders who may be a foreign or local individual or another business entity. To know more abour subsiday company follow this link:

    2. Branch office

A branch office, being an extension of its business headquarter, is only allowed to conduct activities performed by its parent company.

Unlike a subsidiary company, a branch office is not provided with local tax benefits since it is treated as a legal extension of its parent company. And with this arrangement, the headquarter is directly liable for all the losses, debts, and liabilities of its Singapore branch office.

Meanwhile, it is a legal requirement for a branch office to hire two Singaporean resident agents who will oversee its business operation.

When it comes to government-imposed disclosure requirements, this business entity may not be appealing for some shareholders since they are also required to submit the audited accounts of their parent company. To know more about branch office, follow this link:

    3. Representative office

Legally speaking, a representative office is not really a business entity as it is not allowed to engage in any revenue-generating activities.

A representative office is generally ideal for foreign companies who are not yet sure of the business viability of their services or goods in Singapore and want to conduct an extensive market research before engaging in a full-blown operation. Are You An Entrepreneur Or A Salesman?

What I mean by this, everyday, I open my PC and see my screen filled with nonsensical garbage, to put it politely…These wannabies coming online are only thinking of themselves. A true lack of discipline or just not caring about the customer.

True Entrepreneurs provide the customers with satisfaction in meeting their need in a niche. But today it seems like everyone coming online have only one thing in mind—“Get Rich Quick” with no regard to the customers who are the bloodline of their business.

Here’s an example of a true Entrepreneur— Donald Trump see’s A prosperous venture and he begins his quest by promoting his idea to potential clients who will not only become a partner but will also fund this project. This Business is called leveraging and is very effective if utilized properly— In the end— everyone is happy and satisfied…The customer gets what they want and the business partners make HUGE earning from their funding strategies and Donald Trump becomes another billionaire.

An Entrepreneur sees a need that needs to be met and he meets it. There reward is a satisfied customer and a new friend. Business is established by your social ability to sell yourself not a niche. Sell yourself and your customers will take care of you forever.

Who would you rather do business with, someone who is always trying to stick a product in your face or someone who is giving you good content? I would venture to say the later.

Give your subscriber a free offer in the niche you are promoting and they will see you are trying to meet their need and sometimes they will let you know what they are in the market for. Once you gain their confidence and trust they will buy anything you promote because they trust you. That’s the difference between an Entrepreneur and a salesmen.

Remember, Marketing is a Business not a Casino…There’s no jackpots— just you!

If you are ready to make a change in yourself and start being an entrepreneur success the change has to first take place from you. A positive mental attitude and the desire to take action are critical success factors for your entrepreneur success.

What separates an entrepreneur success and someone who wishes to be a success? Why does one person make something work and another just let it go?

The difference is that the successful entrepreneur expects that whatever they do and devote themselves to will work out. They have a positive attitude. Their expectations are geared to the inevitable success that they will have, and they will do what they need to do so that their venture will succeed. The unsuccessful hopefuls dream of success and hope that something will happen to them so that success is given to them. Success never lands on our feet without us doing something for its achievement.

If you see an opportunity you have to embrace it and take the nessesary action. There is a law of give and receive that says you first have to give before you can expect to recieve, you have to plant your seeds before you can get the benefits.

What we all encounter in the world is a reflection of all that we put out with our thoughts. If you give a poor attitude and expect nothing to work out then that will be your experience, and if your attitude is of great expectation and positive to others then your experience becomes very different.

It is your attitude lets us encounter what we call luck breaks. Lucky breaks are simply a process of favorable events and discoveries that have opened up to us. By getting the right attitude that enables us to see them more and act on them more.

Whatever is in your mind you will translate into your physical reality, whether you have great expectations or none at all, whatever you think about will be true for you. Put your mind to work on what you really want and not what you don’t want, focus on what you want to be and not what you don’t want to be.

It is your attitude that will form your future when you start your business, whatever it is. You need to understand what business you would love to do, and what your plan is, but it is you that will take you to entrepreneur success.

Are you looking for a way that you can make money from home? If you are, then you can very easily become a successful entrepreneur. You just need to learn the entrepreneur definition, along with anything else that will be helpful in building your business.

So, what is the entrepreneur definition? An entrepreneur is simply a person who starts a new business and assumes all responsibility for it. There is not much to starting your own business. You just need to decide what it is that you want to do and the best way to proceed by doing some research. If you are doing an internet business, then you have a lot of business opportunity options to choose from.

Knowing the entrepreneur definition will help you become successful if you remember it because you will realize that you are the only one that can build your business to be successful. This means that you will have to do the work that is needed and put in the time required. Advertising your new business, especially if it is online is essential for you becoming a successful entrepreneur.

So, here are the most important steps you need to take to start your business and learn how to become successful with it, in order to become an entrepreneur.

One: Decide what business you want to start. It is a smart idea to spend some time on researching your different options. Just make sure you choose something that you will like doing because this is very important to you finding success as an entrepreneur.

Two: Once you know what business you want to do, you will either have to research to learn more about the proper steps to take, or if it is online, then you will more than likely just need to sign up to get started.

Three: The next step is very important because this will be an ongoing thing you will have to do the whole time you are an entrepreneur and that is to educate yourself on as many promotion methods as you can. Get started with one method, learn it, and then do it. Once you have traffic coming in, add another promotion method until you have several going at once.

Now that you know the entrepreneur definition and how you can learn how to become a successful entrepreneur; you just need to get started. Just remember that it will take time to build your business. So, don’t give up too early like some people do because this will ensure that you never find the success that you want.

Before a doctor diagnoses a specific disease, his patient must undergo a series of laboratory exams and assessments. He has to know the history of his patient and how lifestyle affected his present health problem. As results come in, that would be an indication of the time when a physician gives specific drugs and therapies for maintenance. This will eventually contribute to the level of optimum health for that individual. If all else fails, the process will be repeated again.

Similar to a doctor, what the above mentioned situation has stated, an entrepreneur’s responsibility would be pretty much the same. It’s just that, he should see his customers as his patients (not literally)and what they must have to survive a present predicament or a need. He must follow certain steps before doing anything irrational that could contribute to the downfall of his business. He should have certain characteristics innate in his personality for if he lacks one of these, he’s most probably doomed to fail.

Entrepreneurship is collectively defined as exhibiting one’s vision, taking action, and pursuing that vision as a goal to be achieved in life as service to reality. In the meaningless definition, it’s getting your butt out of that couch and doing something rather than fulfilling your life’s destiny of being a couch potato. Stated below are some of the distinct attitudes an entrepreneur should positively have:

Optimism – is foreseeing things in a positive way notwithstanding any circumstances that may hinder progress. The assertiveness of an individual depends on on e’s knowledge of how to handle a difficult situation

Creativity – is thinking outside the box. Expanding one’s mind of what is beyond the ordinary through fine research and collection of data.

Stability – more so mental, social or emotional, a leader must possess a stable life which means he could handle tough situations during tough times

Charismatic – intelligence of communicating with different walks of life.

Risk-taker – as someone beginning their own dream, one should be stern and must have the guts to take the big leap of plunging into their own doom or success. One should not be afraid of taking chances when opportunity strikes.

Energetic – willing to do whatever it takes to reach to the finish line. The inner drive must always be at its highest level happy to work overtime. His or her enthusiasm must prevail the next best thing.

Time bound – like a written report in a newspaper, an entrepreneur must be on top of things,by looking at our past, we could predict our future.

Small businesses, in time, would turn out big if the scope of management exceeds what is expected. So it is necessary for a beginner to be positive about his endeavors. He must be very observant of what his environment lacks and needs.
Think big! Take Action!!!!. Make your business dreams come true.

There is a big misconception regarding first time entrepreneurship and that is the justification that it is okay to fail your first time simply because some well-known entrepreneurs failed and then hit it big.

What is not mentioned is the number of individuals who failed their first time as an entrepreneur and never got a second shot. Therefore, you might as well make it profitable the first time around.

Thus, to ensure higher odds of entrepreneurial success, you must choose the right business.

    Here are 4 tips how:

    1. Don’t Let the Economy Determine What Business You Should Start

The first thing that entrepreneurs think of when starting a business is our current economic condition. Although it is hard to bypass the thought of a horrid economy and the subsequent effect on your new entrepreneurial venture, it is imperative that you not let the economy sway your decision.

This will especially prove true when the economy turns in the next few years and you are left with an average business that was overly defensive and a lot of regret.

    2. Let Google Assist You In Your Choice of Business How do you truly determine market demand for the product and / or services you plan to offer?

One way to do it is to use the Google Keyword Checker. This basic site will tell you how many people are searching monthly for your product or service.

Another key element that the Keyword Checker brings to the table is the use of adjectives.

For instance, you may want to open a business selling blue widgets, but upon looking up how sought after the product is on the web, you find out that green widgets are searched for times as often as blue.

    3. You Cannot Avoid Sales, Instead You Must Embrace It and Not Let It Determine Your Business Choice

A willingness to engage in sales separates the men and women from what will be future job seekers.

Entrepreneurs hate sales because for some reason they tend to be more afraid of rejection than your average Corporate Joe or Jane. Why this reason is, I cannot tell you, but to avoid human interaction, entrepreneurs will completely alter the business that they are going into.

What they don’t realize is that regardless of industry, sales is part of business and, thus part of entrepreneurship.

    4. K.I.S.S. Keep the concept simple (or, to use the real phrase, Keep It Simple, Stupid). A rule of thumb for first time (and any entrepreneurs) is that if you cannot explain your business in two sentences or less, it’s most likely not going to sell.

It is very rare that people reinvent the wheel with entrepreneurship. As a matter of fact, you can count them on your fingers: Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Sir Richard Branson and ?

The odds of hitting Pick 6 are better. In entrepreneurship, especially when choosing your first business, go for a base hit, not a home run your first time at bat.

One of my favourite assignments as a copywriter is to help entrepreneurs create the text to promote their new business, product or service. In my five years as a professional copywriter, I’ve helped clients as diverse as electricians, sales trainers, marketing companies, gourmet food shops, property developers, digital agencies, IT consultants and driving instructors to express what they offer in writing – usually at the early stage of building or planning the enterprise. The power of copywriting in that situation simply cannot be overestimated. There really is something almost magical about putting words on the page. It makes ideas real, generates commitment and focuses energy. Just by committing thoughts to paper, we can shape our futures. It’s easy to see how this benefits the entrepreneur as they plan or develop a business. Although most entrepreneurs generally feel positive and confident about their ideas, they sometimes find it hard to do them full justice on the page. Working from a different perspective – the outsider’s perspective – the copywriter can make sure that their client’s marketing pitches the offering to the right audience, with the right tone and the right emphasis.Sometimes, the appropriate ‘level’ for the message may be far ‘above’ the one expected or imagined by the entrepreneur. Sometimes, when they see what I’ve written, my clients respond ‘I could never have written that,’ or ‘I don’t recognise myself’. This type of feedback confirms that the entrepreneur may simply be too close to his or her product or business (whether emotionally or intellectually) to communicate its selling points effectively. If the business is a one-person startup enterprise, it’s easy to see why. Talking an idea through with a good copywriter (one who asks the client lots of questions) is a great way to road-test a new idea. ‘If we translated this concept into marketing messages,’ the entrepreneur is asking, ‘Would it fly? Would the proposition be consistent, compelling and capable of converting interest into sales?’ Here, the discipline of copywriting can act as a useful reality check. The dark side of confidence is over-confidence, and entrepreneurs are prone to many delusions and self-deceptions. But the copywriter cannot spin straw into gold; to make convincing copy, they can’t work with unclear, inconsistent or self-contradictory ideas. As part of the briefing process, the copywriter can help the entrepreneur to iron out all these tangles in their thinking – provided the copywriter is prepared to put some tough questions to the person who pays their bill.

If someone were to tell you that you could create a global business, completely for free, with nothing more than the tools you already have, and the investment of your time, you’d question their sanity.

Nevertheless, it’s true. If blogging appeals to you, you can create a viable Internet business within a few months: for free.

Blogging is a new development in online businesses. Essentially, it’s instant publishing. Because entrepreneurial blogging is so new, you have a great opportunity to build your business before others copy what you’re doing, so get started now, and start building your own online empire.

Let’s look at five business models for your new Internet blogging business. These five models can be combined if you wish there are no rules in blogging. You can change the business model of a blog at any time, to a model which generates more income.

Each of these models has the potential to earn you a six-figure income. They are:

    Affiliate blog(s)

    Web publisher blog(s)

    Sales blog(s)

    Service blog(s)

    Blog network(s)

Let’s look at these models one by one.

    Affiliate blog(s)

Many businesses develop affiliate programs, because they can recruit a sales force of thousands of people, with little expense. The appeal of affiliate programs for affiliate marketers is that you don’t need a product or service you can start selling others’ products, on commission.

If you intend creating an affiliate blog, select the products that you’ll be selling before you create the blog. This is because you want to be sure that there is a wide range of products that you can promote. There’s nothing worse than developing a blog, and finding out that the well is dry: you’ve picked a niche where products rarely change, and in which the products are so standardized that there’s nothing new to write or podcast about.

    Web publisher blog(s)

In this model, your blog is the online equivalent of a magazine. Just as a magazine has features and advertising, so does your blog. In this business model, your content is vital, because you’re counting on your content to attract advertisers.

If you choose to develop a Web publisher blog, you’ve got great models the thousands of magazines which are published each year. Check out a couple of your favorite magazines. Usually a monthly magazine will have a theme for each monthly issue, with two or more stories devoted to this theme. The magazine publishes its editorial calendar a year in advance, so that advertisers can line up their advertising for a specific issue.

    Sales blog(s)

In the sales model, you devote a blog to a single product, or range of products. When offline companies start blogs, their blogs are sales blogs they’re using their blogs to sell their products. If you have products that you want to sell, a sales blog is an excellent business model. You could sell a product that you’ve created an ebook, a DVD, or art work or products that you buy from others, and resell.
